Fav4.org Is a Dead Simple but Very Attractive Start Page
Start pages are a dime a dozen, but considering how many times you open a new tab every day, it’s nice to have something attractive to look at. Web site Fav4.org is a minimal start page that’s easy on the eyes.
The default four sites are—Facebook, Flickr, Gmail, and Twitter—but you can customize your Fav4.org start page with a number of different popular sites (though we can think of at least one blog that, ahem, appears to be missing). Click the site settings link in the lower-right corner of the window to adjust your favorites or suggest a site you’d like added. There’s not much to it beyond that. It’s lightweight and attractive. My main feature wish: keyboard shortcuts for launching your favorites.

Would really l❤ve to have this done for my daughter’s room. | Eyecandy

My daughter wanted a ‘plant’ she could water everyday so badly, we found this for her instead, don’t even know what it is..my husband didn’t ask.

I rarely go to the salon to get my hair done. last year i took a long hard look at my long hair, decided it was not a flattering length anymore and finally got the nerve to cut it. really short. now a year later, and still sporting a short do which i sometimes put up in a ponytail, i kind of wish i hadn’t cut my hair in haste. i’m a low maintenance chick (read: lazy) and styling my hair is not an option, i trim my bangs every now and then but that’s all there is to my ‘hairstyling skills’, i try really hard to avoid it. but having a short do takes up a lot of my time, putting it up, applying hairspray even while its still wet (read: lazy again), as my hair tends to get really frizzy even in ponytail.now hair extensions, (girl above with her ‘before extensions’ photo) that’s what i need. plus a really good perm (digiperm from Tony and Jackey?). and a good haircolor (but that would be stretching it, wouldn’t want to put too much chemical on your hair). its my birthday this month, can’t i get one? please? | Rants and Raves

CREATE CASES FOR YOUR MEDIA | Freebies

slipcover

Having a two terabyte drive filled with movies and games is beautiful, but OS X’s default .iso icons sure aren’t. Free app SlipCover solves this problem by quickly creating custom case icons to jazz up your media collection.

SlipCover is a simple drag-and-drop ordeal. Just drag any number of picture files (say, movie posters) into SlipCover’s window and it will automatically make .icns files for each of those images, branded as DVD, Blu-Ray, or HD DVD. You can then drag these images to the finder to save them as .icns files, or, even easier, drag your media files onto their respective cases to apply the icons directly. It’s simple, but very customizable—you can download other case types (such as Xbox 360 or Nintendo Wii) from the net or even make your own, using the instructions on SlipCover’s website.

SlipCover is a free download.
